It Ain't Easy Being Green

GREEN is dowdy. If someone tells me they’re an environmentalist I naturally assume they live in a yurt and maintain a strict diet of tofu and berries. Label yourself an environmental activist and you’re dressed in hemp and your dreadlocks smell ever-so-slightly not-quite-right. GREEN isn’t silver or gold…it isn’t bling. After all the only rims on a G-Wiz are from the glasses resting on the nose of it’s middle-class driver.

GREEN seems like too much hard work. Like exam revision, it’s such a massive task that there’s no obvious starting point. It’s easier just to watch Hollyoaks. GREEN is expensive…isn’t it? Organic this and biodegradable that. A luxury of the G-Wiz driver, not you and me. Right?

So GREEN is a challenge. And I like a challenge. Can GREEN be brought into the mainstream? Can it be viewed as obtainable? It might not ever be Ferrari red but could we shift it out of the tee-pee and maybe cut its hair? That is what I am going to try and prove. You don’t have to be rich, it isn’t hard and it might just improve your life.
